Data Structures In Python

Course Overview

Data structures are the bridge between writing simple Python scripts and building useful data, analytics, AI, and software systems. This course teaches learners how to organize information so programs can search it, count it, clean it, transform it, and report it. Learners work with strings, lists, dictionaries, tuples, files, regular expressions, nested data, and JSON. The course uses practical examples such as learner records, research text, emails, field observations, course data, and small institutional datasets. By the end of the course, learners will understand when to use each structure and how to build a small data processing pipeline from raw input to useful report. This prepares them for databases, APIs, dashboards, AI data preparation, and full-stack application work.

Who Should Attend

Learners who know basic Python and want to become stronger at data handling.
Students and researchers working with text, records, survey data, or structured files.
Analysts and innovators preparing for dashboards, APIs, databases, and AI workflows.
Developers preparing for the Full-Stack Software Engineering and AI Applications pathway.

Learning Outcomes

Use strings as data and extract useful parts from text.
Store, sort, filter, and summarize ordered records using lists.
Use dictionaries for counting, lookup, indexing, frequency analysis, and profiles.
Use tuples and sorting to produce ranked summaries and top-N reports.
Parse files into structured records using clean, defensive logic.
Apply regular expressions to find patterns in messy text.
Navigate nested lists and dictionaries in JSON-like data.
Build a small data pipeline from raw input to useful report.
